Kindle Triangulation & Self Publishing=Massive Opportunity

Kindle: The Passive Income Wave

Highest Recommendation – Kindle Triangulation Bonus

What are you thoughts on self publishing, create space, the Kindle marketplace and the opportunity that we have as internet marketers in 2012? Early today as a sipped my coffee with Amanda we were watching the morning news, I always enjoy ABC’S Tech Bytes segment, today they covered the ever growing tablet demographic in the US.

What I learned this morning shocked me:

29% of all adults in the US own a tablet pc, imagine, one in three people in the united states!

Published January 23, 2012 ABC Tech Bytes

Tablet Ownership Nearly Doubles Over Holiday Buying Season!

The number of U.S. adults who own a tablet device nearly doubled after the holiday season from 10 percent to 19 percent, according to the Pew Research Center.

Measured from mid-December to mid-January, the impressive increase in tablet ownership means that approximately 29 percent of American adults now own either an e-reader or tablet device โ€” up from 18 percent in December.

While the increase in digital readers may make a few publishing companies nervous, at least two companies are celebrating the news. Both Amazon, which makes the Kindle Fire, and Barnes & Noble, which makes the Nook tablet, also saw a large increase in sales compared to the previous year.

I have let this opprtunity pass me by for 2 years as well. I first signed up for a KDP account back in 2009 but never followed up with it. I am getting re-involved with this THIS YEAR!

I put up some PLR content when it was still legal in 209, never looked at my account again, but was still getting small deposits from Amazon every now and then. I wondered why, so I looked again recently, and saw that all but 2 of my books were blocked but those 2 were the reason why Amazon was still paying even 2 years later for which I did no work! I needed to get up to date on this quickly so thats what I am doing this year. Getting ready to publish a quality ebook this time. I only regret the time I wasted not recognizing the potential here.

    Hey Brian…

I’m on James’ list too, so I just received the notification regarding his Kindle course. Then I found your video. Didn’t know about this site till now. But I do have R&P and am going through the course…a lot of information!

Yes, I’m interested in Kindle…my written plan has R&P and Kindle in the number 1 and 2 spots. (bad grammar, I know.)

I met you at Practical Profits last August…sure wish I would have stayed and talked with you a bit more! You were in the hallway and I was just leaving. (Tall, blonde “older” lady) Dumb, cause I really didn’t HAVE to leave. BTW, you and James…my two favorites. (I found PP through James.)

Currently on a fixed income…yes, I’m old enough for social security. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I’m not settling for that since it’s poverty. Obviously, I have the time to get REAL involved in generating online income. You know the saying…find someone who’s doing what you want to do and do what they are doing!

    Thanks,

    Hi Brian,

Michael here. One of your students from back in the Commission Ritual Days and Halloween Super Affiliate. Done very well with both those courses. I have been hearing about this for sometime too. I will be all over this. You are the one who has taught me a lot of what i know.

I think James is awesome as well. He puts out some great tools. I know the big thing every guru is talking about is local marketing today. I just think this business has so much more potential. I am getting a bit tired of building sites because of the amount of work that has to go into them today.

This model is done once and you keep making money over and over again. Thanks for sharing Brian.

    Hi Brian,
I’ve seen a lot of buzz about Kindle publishing and indeed it certainly is something to consider. I’m curious as to how we find what people are looking for in this market space. Do we still do traditional market research as we would for building websites or are the search engines out of the loop on this one.
I look forward with interest on James’s product.

I will try to answer this for you: You can check the bestsellers list on Amazon > Kindle > ebooks section to see the types of books people are buying. Also, I don’t think the search engines are not totally out of the loop because when you do a search, you still see Amazon dominating the searches at Google for whatever..but even moreso for books. Also, Kindle allows you to put in up to 7 tags, which are also keywords for Amazon search. These can also show up in Google. I would also check what tags are being used on the bestsellers lists as well, and then use them for your own ebooks. Hope this helps.

I bought a course a while back called “easy book” from a couple of very reputable marketers. One of them was Canadian……So it was said that signing up with create space would allow all people to collect royalties (the amazon thing) So I signed with create space and was told I had to get a “form W-7” which I down loaded from the government website, filled it in sent it as directed via slow mail. Waited a good 6 mths. It came back REJECTED>>>did not give correct information in check box H……can not find a check box H….AND now they want the original pass port or a copy to be NOTARIZED by a Us notary republic or a foreign notary…….CRAP…this is taking for ever. Anyone dealing with a similar situation??

I have a few ebooks up on Amazon right now selling moderately (Author David DeWitt) and have written an ebook explaining how to use Word to create your ebooks and how to format them for Kindle and Nook using two free software programs instead of clunky formatting systems out there and am doing fine with that book but the big thing is getting traffic, and reviews. I recommend KDP Select which I am going to use next week to start allowing my books to be read by Amazon Prime members for free and by everbody for up to five free promo days per 90 day period for each book enrolled in the program. Thousands of new readers will download your book giving you a chance to build a readership and cross-promote books that the new reader can buy after reading your book for free during the promo. Amazon Prime members can read your book for free any time during the 90 days and you can lend the book out, too, and receive a portion of a very large pie that is divided up amongst those whose books are lent out most! That pie is $700,000 currently for one month! So this is definitely worth doing! The royalty on a $2.99 ebook is 70% and that is a two dollar profit per book to you!

Is there much of a difference (apart from the price) between this and Amazon Publishing Formula. And which would you recommend.

      Hey Tim,

Welcome to MarketingEasyStreet.com, how you move forward really depends on what you want to do, I would suggest you look at the options that are available to you and then think through and make up your own mind as to how you want to spend your time and what you want to do.I personally like business that require little to know maintainance once they are online, Kindle is great for this, publish a book and earn commissions from the sale. The very best thing you can do Tim, is to think through your options and then move forward. If you want to move forward with Kindle then find the very best marketer who can teach you that (James J. Jones is a kindle expert). If you want to learn SEO and traffic generation then I can certainly help you with that.

Too many people in this industry do not make this decision for themselfs and it hurts their ability to move forward.

Hey Brian…I understand how Tim (or John) below feels. Very confusing with info overload and you end up spinning your wheels. I need to focus on ONE thing or one year from now I’ll still be nowhere.

I have James’ course and now am going to go a step further with his look in program. I like to write and that’s why Kindle is so enticing to me, not to mention the set it and forget it aspect. I actually have a book written, well, not entirely completed probably because at the time, I was unaware of the Kindle and Create Space options. (I lost my motivation, I guess…like what am I going to do with this when I’m finished?) I suppose at the time I thought just have a website up to promote it…then there’s the traffic. hmmm…

Writing a book isn’t the hard part…either is the publishing aspect. It’s the marketing, just like everything else. Mine is a fun book about the taxi industry in Las Vegas…lots of stories and a little whistle blowing plus tips for visitors and more…

I have R&P and that’s my second action on my list. Love the course so far, on about page 100. Power packed, that’s for sure.

Point is, really have to start somewhere, take action, go for it, yada yada. And pretty much focus, focus, focus… while ignoring all those bright shiny objects coming my way from all directions. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope to see you again, possibly at another Practical Profits seminar.

@ZacaPublishing @carolynblake Well, heck…I just checked Amazon, and the only editions of this book (from what I could initially determine) are Kindle versions. I don’t have a Kindle but have a feeling I’ll be purchasing one REAL soon. Anyone have any suggestions as to what model? Is the Kindle Fire better than previous models (other than the color benefit)?

          Hey Star,

I have an older model and would like to upgrade myself, the fire lets you surf the web, download apps and is more featured. It also cost about $100 more ….BGJ

@StarDancer @ZacaPublishing @carolynblake You don’t need a Kindle to read a Kinde ebook from Amazon. You can download Kindle for PC or Kindle for Mac and read Kindle ebooks right on your computer! http://amzn.to/4nck80 Or you can read them in the Kindle Cloud Reader right on Amazon.com. My daughter has the Kindle Fire and LOVES it! She can watch Neftflix on it and Instant message me because it has wi-fi – Word to Kindle and Nook: How to Publish ebooks using Word is at http://amzn.to/zAdd24 ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hey Carolyn,

I would not worry about things like formating until you need to, study Kindle Triangulation, select a niche market to enter and begin writing a book. I usually start out with bullet points I want to cover, I then begin to write and cover those bullet points in depth. Worry about formating when the book is complete, I plan on hiring someone at fivrr.com for five bucks ;-)Best,

      Brian

@Brian G. Johnson @carolynblake What I like about Word to Kindle and Nook is that once you learn how to turn your Word documents into Kindle and Nook ebooks you can check for errors right away, and change something in a few minutes. If you pay someone to format your ebook they will not check for spelling mistakes or inconsistencies in something you wrote. $5 for a format job from Fiverr.com can add up, but learning to do it yourself for $2.99 just once is gonna save you a lot of money! Agree Kindle Triangulation is great!

Brian I realize you are busy with Authority Hybrid but I would like to know, if it can be revealed publicly ๐Ÿ™‚ what your next plan of action is as far as public offers are concerned. Will you be working in the kindle area next? Doing one-to-one coaching; offering the 300IM course again or ???

Hope you dont mind me asking.

    Ciao

    Rosemary
