Personal Growth Stories: Redemption, Practical Profits 2011 & Upward Trajectory

In the coming weeks and months I will grow into a passionate, engaging, entertaining and exciting speaker who will move people in many ways. I’ve already done that in the past several times however IN MY MIND it was not where I wanted to be in terms of delivery and execution, however this past Saturday I moved closer to my ideal future self speaker (thanks Andy Shepard) as I stepped on stage and accomplished set goals.

Today as I write this I am filled with peace, happiness and a feeling of accomplishment — thanks to E Brian Rose for giving me the opportunity to make that happen.

This story begins in the summer of 2011 in Vegas when I stepped on stage to captivate and deliver a rousing passionate presentation. I did that with ease, people were off their feet doing the wave, they were cheering and the room was filled with Brian G. Johnson electricity — earlier my friend and copy writer Justin Quick as mentioned that on stage I was a mix between Bon Jovi and the Mad Hatter — and I think that is a fair assessment.

However, I during this presentation I also alienated a percentage of the audience who left and walked out on me due to the fact that I swore dozens and dozens of time — sad panda face.

1-brian-g-johnson-bestFigure Gary Vander Chuck times 2 swearing…

Many people rushed up to me after that speech and loved it, we connected. But, my swearing was mentioned many times, Keith Doruty grabbed me and mentioned “that people mentioned that Brian’s certainly a smart guy — but that swearing”.

I let that swearing stuff go, people make mistakes, but I do my best to always learn from them and this is why my speech on Saturday was so important TO ME. I want people to talk about how great of a speaker I am, not how much I swear.

On Saturday, I did not swear once, I connected with lots and lots of people, they loved it when I physically kicked fear out of the way on stage 😉

I’m really enjoying the journey I’m on right now and I’m very excited about the future. Darren Monroe Scott, I will still be that wild dude preaching from the stage, just minus the F Bomb …

Moral of the story —

Mistakes happen, all the time, you should expect bumps in the road. Just do your best to learn from them and of course try not to repeat mistakes over and over again.
