Sell More eBooks on Amazon Now! With Kindle Select

What to learn how to sell more ebooks right now, as in a matter of days? This blog post will make it happen, as long as you jump in and take action, if you already have a book published to Amazon Kindle all you will need to do is enroll in Kindle Select and schedule a free promotion.

The holiday’s have come and gone, and things are about to get really, really exciting for savvy Kindle self publishers. I’m talking about a surge of ebook sales that is happening now, due to increased sales of the tablet devices that ebooks are read on.

Last year at this time tablet ownership in the United States nearly doubled from December to January with nearly one in three US adults owning some type of tablet device such as an iPad, Kindle or Nook. This past Cyber Monday Amazon once again reported record breaking sales of it’s Kindle devices:

Cyber Monday was the biggest day ever for worldwide Kindle sales, though — as always — Amazon refrains from providing specific figures that would lend much-needed context to that success. But even without hard numbers, it’s clear that Amazon’s digital ecosystem benefited from the hardware sales boom: Christmas Day saw more digital downloads and purchases than any other in Amazon’s history.

Just by having ebooks available in the Kindle Marketplace you too can enjoy increased sales, even better is that sales will continue to increase for the next few years as more and more people access tablets and give up physical books for ebooks.

Want Even More Sales? Amazon Kindle Select

If you have already self published via Kindle you can easily boost your sales RIGHT NOW by simply electing to be apart of Amazon’s Kindle Select program. That program allows authors to offer their book(s) as a free download for five days over a ninety day period. These free downloads impact the Amazon sales algorithm in a number of powerful ways and often boost future sales after the free download day(s) have accrued.

The Strong Get Stronger

Over time the sales and free downloads of ebooks available on Amazon compound the sales strength of a particular book, the Amazon algorithm see’s activity (again in the form of free downloads and purchases) and pushes these books out to even more customers, which in turn results in more purchases and a great selling book.

Usually when launch a book on Amazon Kindle I see hundreds of free downloads, however that number grows over time with repeated free days and more and more people download and access your book.

On January 2cnd I made one of my better selling books available as a free download, it was exciting to see that book receive nearly 3,000 downloads, at the time it was ranked #140 by Amazon Author’s Central out of more than one million books (insert Dr. Evil laugh). Sure, my book was free while most were paid books, however there were thousands and thousands of other free books available and out preferred them. This was due to the fact that I choose market that has mass appeal with lots of hungry buyers.

This particular book sold 16 copies on January 1rst, was free on the 2cnd and already today (January 3rd as I type this) has sold a total of 23 copies and the book is selling today by the hour!

Right now is a GREAT time to offer your book for free via KDP, with millions of new tablet users wanting content, you can be the smart Author and Entrepreneurs to give it to them, Amazon makes it easy. Lots and lots of people will mark 2013 the year that they found success with internet marketing, the Kindle combined with the sales power of Amazon is a game changer and you have what it takes to make it happen.

I have lots of free book promo’s scheduled for this coming weekend and I expect those promo’s to have a very, very positive impact on my actual sales, I hope you get busy with self publishing and Kindle, it’s exciting!

UPDATE: January 4th, 2013

I had a number of questions about Kindle and why “give books away” … with that I have decided to create an in depth Kindle & KDP case study video that you can find here.

I’ve been doing Kindle for a while now but only since buying your AuthorTheme and James something’s “Constant Content The Google Gift” has it really went well in my last attempt to do ANYTHING online. Between those 2 products and 3 pen names all I can say is HOLY CRAP lol – $15k in almost 2 months. Thank you guys.

Now onto a question, can I publish a book on the Select that is already selling (20-50ishish copies daily for one to use an example) well? Or is it better for newer sales?

    Hi Brian!

I am getting more excited and pumped up by the minute the more I read articles on successful Kindle Publishers as yourself!

I am about to enter the Kindle Publishing arena. Well, let’s say on a more serious note. I have written three or four earlier books but haven’t had much success, basically all due to a lack of proper publishing knowledge. Now that I have invested more time and energy as well as my education on getting things done right, I am confident that 2013 is going to be my year of Kindle breakthrough!

At the moment I am really looking for a comprehensive guide in the Kindle Store on formatting my books in Microsoft Word. I am looking at a few options but I’m not sure which one is the best for the jib.

I am specifically looking for details such as best font to use, font size, spacing, paragraph formatting etc all ready for the Kindle format.

Can you perhaps recommend a specific guide that will teach me everything I need to know on getting the formatting right? In the meantime I will start writing to get them books published!

    All the best in 2013!

And I believe that Amazon and Kindle are by far the easiest to succeed with.

Why are you hiding the titles of the books you are telling us about? How on earth do you expect us to believe a word you’re saying when you do this?

      Hey Jo,

Over the years I have put out tons and tons of proof, in fact with my recent
Kindle product I did offer proof. The reason I excluded that from time to time is
      due to risk.

It’s all on me and I have everything to loose. I lost an Adsense account that
was generating thousands monthly, I also lost many money making websites.

I understand that their are many vendors that simply can’t be trusted, however
over time Jo, I you will be able to see that I practice what I preach, my
methods plain work and I am straight with my members and subscribers.

Having a look at some of the comments from others on this site may
      also help you believe.

loved your video on kindle and getting the most out of the option to make your ebook exclusive to kindle. however, I’m now left with the question as to whether the kindle machine fully cranked up will be as effective as selling from my website. I get 40-60 people a day signing up for free information as was going to be making these people my primary focus by way of an upsell. Total web traffic is around 180,000 per month. I am starting to think I should sell epub, mobi and PDF from my website, not worry about the KDP Select option but still sell on kindle. What do you think. this is all very new to me and I haven’t been down this path before. Would appreciate any advise you can offer. Kind Regards, Geoff

Why not do both? Publish to Amazon Kindle, get more exposure for yourself and your brand.
Link from your website to Amazon, this way new people who are searching the Kindle store
will find you. Plus, if your book does well and is driving sales Amazon will push more
      customers to your book.
